Old unit dying every July? We install and replace central air conditioning, ductless mini-splits, furnaces, and ductwork. Permit pulled, electrical handled, inspection passed, one number before we start.
Sound familiar?
Call about this if…
- The AC runs all day and the house still won't drop below 80
- The unit is 15+ years old or still uses R-22 refrigerant
- Your summer electric bill jumped and the system hasn't been touched
- Some rooms freeze and others cook: a duct or zoning problem
- You're adding an ADU, a second story, or a room and it needs its own cooling
- You want to ditch window units for a ductless mini-split
AC is where homeowners get worked over: the $12,000 'emergency' replacement on the hottest day of the year, the unit that's two sizes too big because nobody ran a load calculation, the install with no permit that voids the warranty. We size the system to the house, pull the permit, run the electrical and the ductwork ourselves, and give you a written number before a single panel comes off the wall. Cash, senior, and military discounts apply here too.

How Mickey handles it
Call and tell Mickey the square footage, the age of the unit, and what's wrong. You get a realistic range on the phone.
He comes out, runs a load calculation, checks the ducts and the panel, and gives you a written number for the right-sized system.
We pull the mechanical and electrical permits. You don't deal with the city.
One crew sets the unit, runs the line set, handles the electrical and ductwork, and commissions the system.
HERS testing and final inspection get passed, and you get the warranty paperwork and a thermostat that's set up right.
A system that's too big short-cycles and never pulls the humidity out. We size by Manual J load calculation, not by what's on the truck.
California requires a permit and HERS duct testing on most AC replacements. Skipping it voids the manufacturer warranty and shows up at resale. We include both.
Most replacements are done in one day. Full systems with new ductwork run two to three. The schedule goes in the contract.

Straight Answers
Common questions
How much does it cost to install central AC in Los Angeles?
A straight condenser-and-coil replacement usually runs $6,000 to $10,000. A full system with a new furnace or air handler runs $9,000 to $16,000, and adding ductwork to a house that never had it runs higher. Mini-splits start around $4,000 for a single zone. Call for a free phone estimate; we'll give you a real range for your house in one conversation.
Do I need a permit to replace my AC?
Yes, in every city we serve. The permit, HERS testing, and final inspection are included in our price. An unpermitted install can void the warranty and becomes a problem at resale.
Should I repair or replace my AC?
If the unit is over 12 to 15 years old, uses R-22, or needs a compressor, replace it. The new system will cut the electric bill enough to matter. If it's younger and the fix is a capacitor or a fan motor, repair it. We'll tell you which on the phone.
What size AC does my house need?
It depends on square footage, insulation, windows, and sun exposure, not just a rule of thumb. We run a Manual J load calculation before quoting. Most 1,200 to 1,800 square foot homes in southeast LA County land at 3 to 4 tons.
Can you add AC to a house that only has a furnace or wall heater?
Yes. Either a central system with new ductwork or a ductless mini-split, which is usually the faster, cheaper option for older homes without ducts. We'll walk both numbers with you.
Do you do AC for ADUs and additions?
Yes, and it's one of the main reasons people call us for AC. A new ADU or addition needs its own cooling, and we're already there handling the framing, electrical, and permits. A mini-split is the usual answer.
